Morro Dois Irmãos and Baía dos Porcos in Fernando de Noronha

Your bridge to the island

Living in Noronha is more possible than you were told.

The path starts on the other side of a first flight.

This consultancy does not guarantee a job or residency. What it offers is the shortest honest path there, beside someone who has already walked it.

The real island

Before the charm, the numbers.

The picture as it stands in October 2026.

300+ companies operating on the island Hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail and services.
R$0 environmental fee for workers The temporary resident card exempts you from what tourists pay.
15to45 days from interview to boarding Counting paperwork and the notarised contract.
10+ years of island life The time that built the local hiring network.

What holds true today for anyone who wants to live there

  • Staying rests on three routes: family ties, marriage to a resident, or a work permit. For someone arriving from outside, work is the realistic one.
  • Being hired by an island company generates the temporary resident card, which gives access to the archipelago for as long as the contract lasts.
  • There is no open property market on the island. Workers are usually housed in shared accommodation provided by the hiring company.
  • Fernando de Noronha is the only State District in Brazil, governed by Pernambuco State Law 11,304 of 1995.

The rules of the archipelago change often. This picture is reviewed every season, and the final word always rests with the District Administration of Fernando de Noronha.

The consultancy does not end at boarding. Support runs for a full year.

What stops most people

Four thoughts you have probably had, answered.

They all come up in the first conversation, almost always in the same order.

The doubt“This must be a scam. They will take my money and disappear.”

Doubting makes sense, all the more with a dream this size on the line. The internet is full of profiles promising guaranteed jobs in Noronha and charging up front for a vacancy that does not exist.

Nothing here is sold in the dark. The person running it has a name, a face and more than ten years of island life: Flávio Henrique Gomes Pereira. The first door costs nothing and already returns concrete information about your profile. The hard parts of the island come before the beautiful ones, because that is what protects whoever decides to go.

Trust is not asked for. It is shown.
The myth“Living in Noronha is impossible. They say only locals and their families get in.”

Permanent residency really is restricted. But that is not the door most people use. More than 300 companies operate on the island, and they hire from the mainland every season because the local population cannot fill every role.

A work contract generates the temporary resident card. That card is what allows someone from outside to live there legally, for as long as the job lasts.

The door is not blood. It is a contract.
The money“It is far too expensive. I could never afford life in Noronha.”

Tourists pay a lot to stay a few days, and that is the figure that shows up on Google. In 2026 the Environmental Preservation Fee sits at R$ 105.79 per day, rising with the length of stay.

Workers come in through another door. Hiring companies usually provide accommodation, part of the meals and a staff-rate flight, well below what a tourist pays. And anyone holding the temporary resident card pays no environmental fee at all.

Living on the island costs differently from visiting it.
The mirror“I do not have the profile. I am older, I do not speak English, my CV is plain.”

There is no formal age limit. Companies most often look at the 20 to 45 range, and that is not a hard barrier. Marital status and having children are not either.

English weighs in reception, bookings and management. In kitchens, maintenance, dining rooms, sales, transport and general services it counts as a plus, not a requirement. What decides a hire is proven experience in the role and how you carry yourself in the interview.

What counts is what you already know how to do.

Straight answers

The questions that come up most.

Can a foreigner work in Fernando de Noronha?

Yes, provided you hold a CPF and are in good standing with the Federal Police. From there the process is the same as for any candidate: CV, interview, CLT contract and registration in the island system. Speaking another language is often a strong point in reception and bookings.

Which jobs are most commonly hired on the island?

The ranking that comes up most is: waiter, bilingual receptionist, cook, bartender, maintenance, head chef, salesperson, diving instructor, driver and cleaning staff. Hospitality and food service carry the volume, and the network of over 300 companies opens demand in sales, diving, transport and administration.

How does the temporary resident card work?

The card comes from the employment relationship. The hiring company registers the worker in the island system and, once cleared, the document allows movement across the archipelago, including the marine park, for as long as the contract lasts. It also exempts the holder from the environmental fee.

Do companies pay for flights and housing?

Hiring companies offer shared accommodation, part of the meals and a staff-rate flight, agreed between company and employee. Housing is shared, with a full kitchen, fridge, laundry and rooms for up to three people, each with a bed and personal storage.

Can I change companies once I am living there?

You can, with one important detail: if company A hired you and you decide to move to company B, the contract with A has to end, you leave the island and return rehired by B. Knowing this beforehand changes how you choose that first job.
